Spanish Literary Club

Friday, January 9, 2015 - 11:30am to 1:00pm

Attendees will take part in lively discussions on Spanish Literature, focusing on the works of notable authors. Conversations will be mostly in Spanish, but non-native speakers are welcome. This event will be held in the MediaScape Room. Currently discussing "Eva Luna" by Isabel Allende.

iRead at the Library

Saturday, January 10, 2015 - 9:00am to 3:00pm

What better place to kick-off the iRead program than the Youth Services Department with over 60,000 books to choose from? Our staff will be happy to help you choose books or you can just browse on your own. Other staff will be available for library card sign up.
Teachers from District 112 will be here reading some of their
favorite books to students. A schedule of times for the teacher readings will be forthcoming.
Nationally-known family entertainer Chris Fascione brings children’s stories to life with his high-spirited and innovative performances. Full of energy, humor, and imagination, Chris creates colorful characters through his unique combination of acting, storytelling, comedy, and juggling. Adults and children alike have fun participating in the show. Shows at 11 a.m. or 1 p.m.

District 112 teachers will be here to greet you and to read selections from some of their favorite books.
Students will receive 30 minutes credit on their reading logs.
