There will be some very exciting changes happening in our department within the next few months! The computer and game computer/art table area will be undergoing a renovation to make better use of space.
An updated computer station unit will be installed; this will hold 8 computers--reservation sign up (when all computers are in use) and printing (color and black & white) will take place at our reference desk.
As we dictate this blog to our librarians, our hardy weekend maintenance crew is hard a-shovelin' outside... it's a winter wonderland outside! We decided though, to stay in our tank today rather than go outside & see about our shadows... it looks cold! We'll let Punxsutawney Phil take care of everything. (Did you know Phil has been to our library before as part of an animal program? He has.)
We are going to be at the Day of Service in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Are you? Click this posting's title for more information.

* We will close at 1pm on Monday, December 31, and remain closed on the first of the new year - Tuesday, January 1, 2013! We'll reopen at 11am on Wednesday, January 2, after our first all-staff meeting of the new year.
Winter Break Programs
We hope you all had a restful and delicious holiday and got to spend quality time with family and friends - for us gerbils, we are both family AND friends!
Big news in our department this week - our winter program schedule is out - register now for two awesome science-y events!
We can't believe it's almost Thanksgiving already... hasn't this year just flown past? A lot of winter holiday lights and decorations are already up, technically we've had our first snow (though we gerbils stayed toasty warm inside during that cold night)... pretty soon it will be 2013!!
Stock up on library materials this week - the library will close at 1pm on Wednesday, November 21, and will be closed all day on Thursday, November 22 for the Thanksgiving holiday. We gerbils are planning a big feast and hope you are too!
