A One Book, One Highland Park event.
Metalsmith instructor Amy Butts from The Art Center Highland Park will be on hand to teach beginning wire wrapping techniques. Participants will have an opportunity to design and make a one of a kind bracelet, decorating it with beaded charms that they create. Ages 10 and up, no previous skills are required. Materials generously donated by The Art Center Highland Park.

Optical Illusions Workshop

Young artists will learn of Victor Vasarely, know as the founder of optical art. We'll learn how to alter line and shading in order to fool the eye, and create 3-D art on flat paper!

Set in a Hasidic Jewish community in Brooklyn, this is the story of Sonia (Renee Zellweger), a young woman aching to escape from the strictures of her environment. Trapped in an arranged marriage, she takes enormous risks that lead to her being locked out of her house and family. Boaz Yakin wrote and directed this drama.
Presented as part of the One Book, One Highland Park programs.
