For walking toddlers to 2 year olds with parent or caregiver.
Enjoy an interactive storytime with picture books, songs, fingerplays, puppets, and parachute play. Nurture your toddler's love of books and encourage him or her to learn numbers, colors, sounds, and new words. Each class will end with 1/2 hour of play and time to meet other parents, caregivers, and toddlers.

Gain insights and learn the dos and don’ts for putting together a manuscript for publication in a panel discussion. For poets, fiction and non-fiction writers. Panelists include C.J. Laity, publisher/editor for Chicago Poetry Press, Jacob Knabb, editor for Curbside Splendor and Andrea Witzke Slot, published poet/novelist, professor and RHINO editor. Presented by East on Central and Highland Park Poetry.

Advanced Beginner Spanish

This course is designed for those who have taken Beginning Spanish or its equivalent. You will improve your language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. You will need to order a textbook prior to class - "Learn Spanish the Fast and Fun Way with MP3 CD" by Heywood Wald and George Thatcher.
Cost-$60. Payment due at time of registration. You are not officially registered until payment is received. No refunds.

Meet The Author Mary Morris - "The Jazz Palace"

Morris discusses her novel, a sweeping Chicago epic that captures the atmosphere and music of the Jazz Age. It’s a tale of family, race, gangsters, disaster, love, betrayal, and, of course, jazz. Books will be for sale and the event will conclude with a book signing. A jazz combo from Highland Park High School will perform before and after the event.
