Summer Reading Week 2 - Reader of the Week and Some Statistics!
Avery G., a second grader, has won the second Summer Reader of the Week Drawing. For more information on the Summer Reader of the Week drawings, look a few entries back!
Summer Reading has had a great start so far, nearly two weeks in. Here are some of our awesome statistics:
27 babies have registered online and shared 313 songs, rhymes, finger plays and books! There are many more who are participating using a paper log.
76 preschoolers aged 3-5 are signed up and have written 64 book reviews so far!! The new sectioned treasure chest is a big hit - it's much easier to choose from the awesome prizes inside now that it's neat and tidy.
505 kids in grades K-5 have signed up with an astonishing 501 reviews online! That's over 1,000 tokens earned in online book reviews! Off the top of my head, I'd say ice cream, erasers, marbles and the grab bag are the most popular prizes so far.
91 tweens in grades 6-9 have registered and written 154 online reviews worth over $300 in library credit. We've got some rich kids participating - lots are saving their money up for some of the more expensive prizes.
Kids across all the age groups have donated 28 tokens, totalling, $14, to Tails of Hope, this year's charity. Check out our Facebook page for pictures of the cute cats and dogs that are decorated and living in our Tails of Hope house.
