A few changes around the department...

Have you noticed any changes in our Picture Book collection?
Our picture book shelves used to be shelved lengthwise (with A starting at the left end of a long row, and continuing all the way across to the far right end), but with some hard work from Miss Deena and one of our shelvers, they now are shelved just like the other collections in the department. A still starts at the left end of a long row, but instead of going allllllll the way across, the shelves are now broken into zig-zagged sections. If you follow the arrows on the picture below, you can see what we gerbils mean.  

Another helpful change in the picture books is in the spine labels. Our old labels had only the first three letters of an author's last name, which made shelving (and searching for books) somewhat of a tricky process. The new labels have the author's full last name and first initial, thanks to a great deal of work from our technical services department. 

Where did the copier go?
Our copier is now located in the newly renovated Adult Services computer area. 

Computer sign-up station
If all the computers are in use, please see one of the desk staff to reserve a computer - otherwise, just sit down at a computer & type in your library card number! 

Self Checkout Station
We now have a self checkout station in our department! 

Pick-Up Cart
If you ever take something off a shelf & then decide you don't want it - please do not reshelve it - instead put it on our Pick-Up Cart, now conveniently located underneath our department clocks. There is a second cart, the Dora Cart, in the children's room. Thanks for your help keeping our materials in order!
