Renaissance Faire
Hear ye! Hear Ye!
A wonderful time was had by all at the Renaissance Faire hosted by the Highland Park Public Library on Sunday, June 5th. The faire was the grand kick-off event for the Youth Services summer reading program, “A Midsummer Knight’s Read.”
On a picture perfect day, in the clearing behind the library, faire goers met knights, ladies-in-waiting, a royal falconer with hunting falcons and hawks, and the court jester. The faire was made possible by The Friends of the Highland Park Library.
Summer Reading Week 1: Reader of the Week
Aidan H., a second grader, has won the first Summer Reader of the Week Drawing. Each week during Summer Reading the Youth Department runs a random drawing from summer reader participants who have written at least 3 online book reviews. As a winner, three of Aidan's favorite books reported on so far will be displayed on our Electronic Bulletin Board for the summer. Check back here or look up on our electronic bulletin board when you come in to see reads from future Summer Reader of the Week winners!
