London riot fire destroys European stock of several Chicago record labels.

London has been going through a series of riots over the last week. Cars have been flipped, buildings have been razed, and people have gotten hurt. So far, over 700 people have been arrested and millions of dollars worth of property damage has occured.

One of the buildings that was destroyed is a warehouse owned by Sony. This warehouse served as a European distribution point for many small independent labels. Several of the affected labels are based here in the Chicago area. Thrill Jockey, Touch & Go, Victory Records, Drag City, and Bloomington Indiana based Secretly Canadian have all been hit hard. Drag City has described the loss of their inventory as "catastrophic".
