Nirvana's album "Nevermind" is 20 years old.
This past weekend was a hallmark for modern rock music. It was the 20 year anniversary for the release of the classic Nirvana album, "Nevermind".
Originally released on September 24th in 1991 in the middle of the grunge rock movement, the album was released with relatively low expectations. No one expected the album would go on to sell 30 million copies. No one expected that that the single "Smells Like Teen Sprit" would be a musical gamechanger which would open the gates to mainstream acceptance to such bands such as Pearl Jam and Smashing Pumpkins. No one expected that 20 years later, it would be regarded as one of the best albums ever recorded and influence a great number of musicians.
Kurt Cobain may be gone, but his music lives on. Check out "Nevermind" and other albums from the Nirvana discography from the list below.
