November 29, 2005 Carpet Installation

The upholsterers came and took all the chairs off to be recovered. Movers arrived in the  afternoon and took all the paperback racks out of our department. They were moved to the hallway leading to the adult department. This gave grade school and jr. high school readers a small browsing collection while our room was closed. The carpet layers and painters were hard at work as well. The old carpeting was removed from everywhere except the Inger Boye Children's Room and some of the new carpeting was put down. The carpet has a pattern of oak leaves to complement the carvings on the entryway to our department.
