Karen Chan, of Karen Chan Financial Education & Consulting, LLC, discusses whether or not it is the right time to retire.
There’s a lot of talk about “the number” – the specific amount of money you need to retire. But thinking about retirement involves more than just one number. In this session, we’ll talk about assessing your overall financial picture and gathering all the pieces of information that will help you make an informed decision. Building a better understanding of all aspects of your finances, from expenses to Social Security to IRAs and investments, will help you know when retirement is an option for you.
Karen Chan is “strictly education” – she does not sell any financial products or services. She has been educating the public about financial topics for over twenty five years. After a career as an Educator with University of Illinois Extension, Karen “retired.” But she continues to provide financial education workshops through her own small business, Karen Chan Financial Education & Consulting, LLC. Karen has a master’s degree in Consumption Economics. She also holds the Certified Financial Planner™ designation but she teaches rather than working with individual clients. Her goals are to make even complicated financial subjects easy to understand, and to help people make wiser decisions with their money.
