With more and more of the population preparing to enter Retirement with longer life expectancy's, understanding how to best use your Social Security Benefits is becoming more critical than ever.  This discussion will explore the numerous details of the Social Security System that will help you understand how to best use your benefits given your personal situation.  The focus will be on what matters most to Americans today and address the many questions often asked by individuals about their retirement benefits - the break-even analysis, what are the actual options a person has when it's time to collect their benefit, spousal benefits and survivor benefits, divorcee benefits, the taxation of benefits and more.  As a result of attending this discussion, you will be better armed to confidently approach your personal situation by having the proper education on how Social Security actually works.

Presenter: Doug Zweig

  • Over the last 10 years, Doug Zweig served as a Regional Vice President for one of the largest financial services companies in the world.  In this role, one of his primary responsibilities was to work with many of the leading investment advisors and financial planners in the Chicagoland area to help them address the various needs of their clients.  In addition to one-on-one consultation with investment advisors, financial planners, and individual clients, Doug has delivered hundreds of keynote presentations to advisors, their clients, business owners, and many professional services firms.  Topics included financial planning, asset allocation, retirement income planning, Social Security and Medicare planning to name a few.   He is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and attended The Wharton School for Executive Education to earn his Certified Investment Management Analyst designation (CIMA®).  He also has earned his Chartered Financial Consultant Designation (ChFC®).  Doug now practices financial planning and investment management for individuals and businesses at a local Independent Registered Investment Advisory and Planning firm.
