Development Officer - Part-Time

Duties
Develops and implements plans for donor solicitations and donor recognition.  Maintains new and ongoing donor lists; builds and manages a portfolio of annual funds prospects, implementing cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies.  Leads development of promotion materials used in donor education and solicitation.  Ensures stewardship of past, current, and prospective donors through personal contacts, articulate correspondence, and timely gift acknowledgements.  Plans special events to cultivate donors and/or raise money for the library.Serves as liaison and provides support to the Friends of the Library organization.  Collaborates with staff on submission of grant proposals.
Requires: 
Bachelor’s degree and two years directly related experience in development for a non-profit or publicly funded organization. Demonstrated success in designing and leading major fundraising efforts. Successful record of accomplishment with developing and sustaining strong benefactor relationships with organizations and individuals.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.  Proficient computer and technology skills including the use of the Internet, mobile devices, and social media.  Proficiency with Constant Contact or other contact management software. Certified Fund Raising Executive credentialing desired.
Schedule: Part-time, 25-hour workweek.  This is a year-round position.
Salary: $24+ per hour, DOQ. Includes retirement, vacation, and sick time benefits.

Library Page - Part Time

Do you like to keep things organized? Do you like to know where everything is? Then being a Membership Services Page at the Highland Park Public Library might be just the job for you! No day is exactly the same – different materials, different people – but the skill set remains the same. Join the library’s team – contribute ideas for future projects, work closely with people who love connecting people with the world of ideas.

Duties: Shelve, sort and shift library materials (print and non-print) onto shelves or display units, and shelf-read materials – arranging books and other materials in correct order on the shelves. Shift materials so that materials remain accessible, attractive and orderly. Empty book bins or other returned materials receptacles and desensitize specified materials.
Requires: Ability to sort materials alphabetically and in a Dewey Decimal sequence, familiarity with computer operations, ability to stand, bend, kneel, and lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Requires visual discrimination and the ability to read spine labels, the ability to follow oral and written instructions, and the ability to interact and communicate with people of all ages. Must be available for open shifts.
Schedule: Afternoon, nights and weekend shifts available! If you’ve got the time and talent we’ve got the shift for you! 10-14 hours a week.
Salary: $9.00 per hour, depending upon qualifications.
