Join us as we open the 2025 Note for Note Concert Series with New Orleans Jazz! Based in Chicago, The Do-Rights incorporate jazz clarinet, saxophone, tuba, and tap dance to share the whimsical, free-spirited, and unique tradition of New Orleans jazz. The band’s influences range from Charlie Parker to Sesame Street to perform, expand, and educate on traditional jazz idioms.
Join us for a delightful afternoon of international folk music and dance with Chicago Cossacks, Chicago’s premier Ukrainian folk ensemble. Since 1993, Chicago Cossacks has performed at festivals, cultural centers, and private parties, entertaining people throughout the greater Chicago area. The band performs with traditional Eastern European dancers and features Ukrainian instruments, including a wooden flute known as a sopilka, a mandolin known as a domra, and an accordion.
Back by popular demand, the Surabhi Ensemble combines Mexican and Spanish music traditions along with Indian rhythms, bringing together dance forms such as flamenco, Mexican folk dance, and Bharantanatyam for an unforgettable afternoon. Having recently completed an international tour with a showcase concert hosted by the Prince of Gujarat, this ensemble returns to Highland Park with a brand-new work featuring artistic lanterns, dancing, and exciting new music.
Experience a captivating exploration of Leonard Bernstein’s musical legacy as performed by acclaimed musicians Kathleen Monson, Kristina Bachrach, and Riko Higuma. Having worked together for numerous years, Kathleen, Kristina, and Riko have performed with highly regarded groups, including Broadway in Chicago, the Norwegian Opera House, The Princeton Festival, the New York Philharmonic, and the Fort Wayne Philharmonic. This concert featuring the music of Leonard Bernstein bridges classical, jazz, and Broadway styles, bringing to life the emotional depth and complexity of one of America’s most iconic composers.
