There is more than one way to read a book! The Highland Park Public Library provides the following options:
Additionally, there are "Talking books" and braille materials available through the Illinois Talking Book Outreach Center library service. If you're interested in receiving "talking books," contact Voices of Vision at 800-426-0709 to set up service. You may also visit their website to download an application for service.
As a public building, the Library has been designed within ADA Compliance Measurements. For ease of mobility, the Library is equipted with the following:
Parents and teachers of special needs students may find this social story about the library helpful to review before a library visit.
It shows students many of the people, places and things they may encounter in the library.
Receive deliveries of books, audiobooks, and CDs.
Materials are delivered to Highland Park Public Library cardholders every other Tuesday and picked up two weeks later.
The service is available to those who are unable to visit the Library due to age, illness, or disability.
