 Interlibrary Loans

Interlibrary loan is provided within the context of reference service as an access point to information resources that are not available in the collection of the Highland Park Public Library.

The Highland Park Public Library follows the guidelines of service as outlined in the Illinet Interlibrary Loan Code and the National Interlibrary Loan Code for the United States.

Interlibrary Loan is a service between libraries.

Each cardholder is limited to five (5) books or AV materials AND five (5) articles pending or received at any one time.

The library can not provide more than five (5) requests for photocopies per calendar year from a periodical title (not issue) if those articles were published within the last five (5) years according to section 108(g)(2) Copyright Guidelines.

For more information, please see the Interlibrary Loan Procedures Service for Highland Park Patrons

Request an Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary loans are placed for Highland Park Public Library card holders only and are used only for items not owned by the Library or found in the shared library catalog. ILLs may only be placed on new items 6 months post-publication. Patrons may have up to 5 interlibrary loan items in process and checked out at any time. All attempts will be made to obtain material for free. You will be notified if the lending library charges a fee. If you agree to the fee, the fee must be paid at time of pick up.
