Film Showing & Discussion: Rebel without a Cause (1955)
In the last installment of the series of coming of age films, Bob Coscarelli introduces Rebel without a Cause (1955) and leads a discussion after the showing. This program will take place on Sunday December 16th at 2 P.M in the Auditorium.
Jim Stark (James Dean), the teenage son of a well-to-do family, is the new kid in town. Overcome by loneliness, frustration, and anger, he can’t help but get into trouble, a problem that has forced his appearance-conscious parents to move from one town to another. Although Jim finds some solace in his relationship with kindred spirits Judy (Natalie Wood) and Plato (Sal Mineo), he must still prove himself to his peers. Directed by Nicholas Ray.
