El Paso, Texas, 1987. Mexican-American teen friends Aristotle and Dante explore their racial and ethnic identities while also experiencing the usual adolescent questions of family, sexuality and expression. This 2022 film, directed by Aitch Alberto, is based on the banned 2012 novel by Benjamin Alire Sáenz. Sponsored by the Friends of the Highland Park Public Library.
