Grab & Go

Pick Up New Library Materials Using Grab & Go!

Here’s how to use the Library’s contact-free pickup service:

Request materials here or by calling 847-432-0216.

Your materials will be checked out to your account and you will be notified the day before they are available to pick up.

Look for the bag with your name on it in the vestibule on the Library’s lower level.

Follow the directional signage and enter one at a time. 

Materials can be picked up from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Upon return, materials will be quarantined for seven days.

Frequently Asked Questions about Grab & Go


Who can place a hold and pick up through Grab & Go?

Library cardholders in good standing registered with the Library may pick up materials through Grab & Go.


I'm a patron of a different library. Can I check out a Highland Park item if I pick it up at Highland Park?

Yes. 


Can Rokus and hotspots be checked out using Grab & Go?

Roku devices and hotspots may be checked out from Grab & Go.


What items are not available for Grab & Go?

Ukuleles, STEM kits, and Literacy bags are not available for Grab & Go.


When will my items be ready for pickup?

You will be notified the day before your items will be ready to pick up.

​11 a.m. – 7 p.m., 7 days a week.


Why can't I place a hold on an item at other libraries?

Items are not yet being transferred between libraries. Holds are limited to items owned by Highland Park Public Library.


​Where do I return items​?

The book drops near the front of the parking lot are now open for returns.


I returned my items. Why does my account still show them as checked out or even overdue?

Returned items are being isolated for 3 days before being checked in. At check-in, a 3-day grace period is in effect so any fines incurred after the item was returned will be not be charged to the patron.
