In honor of Banned Booked Week, challenge yourself this October with our banned books reading challenge.
In honor of Banned Booked Week, challenge yourself this October with our reading challenge. Starting October 1, pick up a reading log with a list of 50 banned books at the Information & Reader Services desk for adults or the Youth Services desk for kids. Read as many banned books as you can. Then turn in your reading log, where each book will count as a ballot in our prize drawing.
Banned Books Week is an annual event celebrating the freedom to read and spotlighting current and historical attempts to censor books in libraries and schools. By focusing on efforts across the country to remove or restrict access to books, Banned Books Week draws national attention to the harms of censorship.
