Ace in the Hole, also known as The Big Carnival, was produced, directed and cowritten by Billy Wilder in 1951.   Kirk Douglas plays washed-up reporter Chuck Tatum who takes advantage of the sensational story of a man trapped in a landslide to try to regain a return to a big-time newspaper.  Tatum intentionally delays the man's rescue to create a bigger story, creating a carnival atmosphere at the rescue site.  One of the supporting characters is played by Frank Cady, Sam Drucker of Green Acres fame!  Sponsored by Friends of the Highland Park Public Library.
