Meeting Room 8Join a library staff member to discuss The Art of Resistance: My Four Years in the French Underground by Justus Rosenberg. **This event has moved to the Brenner Room**
The Art of Resistance: My Four Years in the French Underground is a gripping autobiography of a man who helped famous artists and intellectuals flea Europe during WWII, was imprisoned, escaped, returned to the resistance, joined the U.S. Army, earned a purple heart, worked for the United Nations, and received France’s highest honor, Commandeur de la Légion d’honneur. Though nonfiction, Rosenberg's autobiography reads like literature you cannot put down in no small part due to his six decades of teaching literature at Bard College after the war. A fierce advocate of justice, Rosenberg was aptly named, and inspires readers to likewise fight against oppression.
